The BIOCTANE project was represented at the 30th Ibero-American Congress on Catalysis (CICAT 2026), held from 6 to 11 September 2026 in La Serena, Chile. The congress brought together researchers and experts from the field of catalysis to discuss recent developments and advances in catalytic processes and technologies.
As part of the conference, Patricia Pizarro gave an oral presentation entitled “From 2,3-butanediol to jet-fuel: unlocking a full catalytic cascade”. The presentation focused on the catalytic conversion of 2,3-butanediol towards jet-fuel-range hydrocarbons and presented the progress made within BIOCTANE towards developing an integrated catalytic cascade for the production of renewable aviation fuels.
The work was presented by Patricia Pizarro and co-authored by Ignacio Lemir, Barbara Sanz, Lidia Amodio, and David Serrano.
