The BIOCTANE Scientific Workshop will encompass a full day of lectures and lab visits tailored for all who would like to learn more about biochemical processes for the production of renewable fuels.
The different lecture topics cover the full process chain of producing renewable fuels via biochemical conversion. A strong focus will be on biofilm, reactor design and different biochemical process routes. After the lunch break there will be the opportunity to visit the labs and experimental setups at TUHH and for networking.
Speakers are renowned experts from the BIOCTANE project and the broader field of (bio-) process engineering using renewably sourced feedstock and clean energy sources. The workshop is fully funded, only cost for travel and accommodation will need to be covered by the participants. We will provide participation certificates for all participants. For any further questions, feel free to reach out to info@bioctane.eu. Looking forward to meeting you!

We invite PhD students to join a 2.5-day Summer School focused on Productive Biofilms & Process Modeling. This intensive programme offers both theoretical insights and practical experience in biofilm-based bioprocesses and process simulation using Aspen software.
Participants will start by assembling and operating their own experimental biofilm reactors. The following sessions combine hands-on laboratory work with process modeling exercises, guided by experienced researchers. Designed to encourage interaction and critical thinking, the Summer School also offers a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow PhD students and experts in the field.
Participation in the Summer School is free of charge. However, travel and accommodation costs must be covered by the participants themselves. A certificate of participation will be issued upon successful completion of the programme. For further information or inquiries, please contact us at: info@bioctane.eu.
